video installation

The title 08.16 refers to the hour of the detonation of the first atomic bomb that was dropped over Hiroshima; an indication of time that in the video piece composes a timeline of minutes and seconds describing the way towards the explosion.

Extract from voiceover:
"The uranium atoms that had been extracted down at earth where over 4,5 billion years old. It had taken an enormous power, before earth was created, to squeeze their electrically charged protons
together. After the uranium was created,
the strong power had kept the protons together for all these years, while earth was cooling and the continents where formed, while America was separeted from Europe and the North Atlantic slowly was filled with water. And now, one single
neutron had disturbed this balance."
